5 great looking websites about beer

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Mmm, beer. Having showcased some neat coffee related websites, I figured I’d pay tribute to another one of my favorite beverages this time. It proved to be a bit harder than I expected.

While researching for this article, I found that quite a few of the big beer websites have some very annoying features. Many of them are so called interactive presentations entirely built in flash, they take a long time to load, and demand you type your date of birth before allowing you to enter. I don’t know how that’s going to keep underage visitors out, but it will certainly piss some older visitors off. The Corona website never finished loading. Guinness wouldn’t let me in at all despite the fact that I’m 28 (and a half!) years old. In stead, they redirected me to The Century Council, an organization dedicated to eliminate drunk driving and underage drinking. Are they trying to insult me?

Fortunately, not all beer related websites are utter crap. Check out these 5 good looking counterparts.

As some of my visitors may have already figured out on their own, I love coffee. I also love web design, and as far as I’m concerned, the two subjects go hand in hand. While surfing for inspiration and refueling with fresh brewed coffee, I’ve come across these hot looking website designs inspired by, er, coffee.

Antidecaf reborn

After more than 8 years online, I figured it was about time to make something more than merely a static portfolio out of antidecaf.com. I have written a few articles and tutorials in the past, but they’ve all disappeared at some point because I’ve had no appropriate place to publish them.

Those days are gone. Behold, the brand new Antidecaf blog!
